Unresolved Hope
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait patiently for it.
Romans 8:25
There is an element of “hope” that involves the promises of God, not just the presence of God. There is “hope” that serves as an anchor and there is an element of “hope” that serves as our ambition in life. There was the “hope” of Christmas story and then there is the hope of Christ’s coming again. Because we know that Jesus is coming again in the flesh (2 John 1:7) we wait patiently for Him knowing that it’s happening and seeing how God is working in and through our world to prepare for that day. I like what the devotional tells us today that “We can enjoy the dissonance, letting our emotions swell with hope and desire and uncertainty and promise, know and trusting that the end will be even more beautiful because of the expectation built throughout.
