The Kitchen Table            Day 63

Today’s Reading:  PS 31; 1 Sam 16:11-13; Phil 1:1-11

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

When we finally decide to surrender our lives to God, we choose to believe and surrender to His will, His way, and His work in our lives.  God’s work is a work of love and love is what He wants to work in us.  It takes work to walk in love because love isn’t just a feeling, it’s an action.  It’s something we feel and see from God and it’s something we not only feel but see in our lives as the Holy Spirit works in us.  The Holy Spirit anoints us, like He did David, to live in and to live out of God’s love.  The Psalmist says, “But I put my trust in You, O Lord;  I say, You are my God.:  That’s love for God and in God.  That’s why believers live in faith, not fear and the Holy Spirit will only perfect that work as we surrender to His love.

The Kitchen Table            Day 62

Today’s Reading:  Ps 143; Jer 32:1-9, 36-41; Mt 22:23-33

And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies,
and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul,
for I am your servant. Psalms 143:12

God is the God of those who choose to live, not die.  His steadfast love will bring anyone who believes into His life and the light to live.  But God will not force His way upon us. He offers it to us.  We have the choice of life or death.  Choose life!  That choice is made in the mind. Heaven or Hell are empowered in our lives at the gate of the mind.  Where there is agreement, there is authority.  Heaven isn’t bound by our agreement, but we authorize heaven through our agreement.  Hell, however, must have our agreement to operate in its authority over and through our lives.  Think about that!  His steadfast love has the authority and power to cut off our enemies regardless of what we have done, the moment we believe.  Chose to believe today!
