1 Thessalonians 4  Day 14

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.                 1 Thessalonians 4:17

We are going up!  We will meet the Lord in the air and forever be with Him.  Know that!  Remember that!  This earth is not our home.  We’re living for more than just this life.  Be ready!

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a  shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.             1 Thessalonians 4:16

Keep speaking what He says.  Don’t let anyone deter you.  When Jesus comes for us, it might be a surprise but it won’t be a secret.  We will all know that He is coming for us.  Jesus is coming for you and for me.  Don’t be discouraged.  He won’t forget or miss us.  We live with that hope that we are continually on the mind of Jesus and the heart of God.  We will not be left behind if we believe.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Keep speaking what He says.  That’s where our hope is, in His words, not the worries of this world.  You won’t miss the appearing of Jesus.  Things will change, never to be the same.  This world doesn’t have the authority to declare the end, only Jesus who overcame His end has the authority to declare our end.  Keep speaking what He is saying and you will see all that He is doing.

1 Thessalonians 4  Day 12

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.                                 1 Thessalonians 4:15

Speak what He said.  If we will speak what He said, we will see what He is doing.  Speak His word, not the words of this world and these worried.  This church thought they had missed the rapture because they had started believing what others said about the Lord and this life.  Just keep speaking His word, not your worries or weaknesses.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

 1 Thessalonians 4:14

If we believe we will see!  We like to say, “Show me and I’ll believe” but God says, “Believe and I will show you.”  If we believe we will see Jesus who died, believing that God would raise Him from the dead, coming back with all those who died believing God for eternal life.   Because He lives, we will live too for eternity!  Believe and you will see!

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:14

If we believe, we will see the fullness of the love of God.  Love lives in the house of faith.  Anything else is lust or luck and lust wears out while luck runs out, but the love lasts a lifetime.  It takes faith to live in love and the love of God brings eternity and expectation.  Jesus is coming back because He loves us.

But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, ¹¹ and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, ¹² so that you will  behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

1 Thessalonians 4:10-12

Love prepares us for living here and for leaving here and we never come to an end of learning or living in love.   Where there is love there is peace with ourselves and our neighbors.   Where there is an abundance of love there will be an abundance of peace.  Think about that and remember that where we see love there will be peace.

Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; ¹⁰ for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia.                1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

When it comes to obedience, the greatest commandment is to love.  Love is what God teaches and love is what prepares us most for seeing Jesus come again in the clouds.  He is coming because He loves us and we’re getting ready to go because we love Him.  Have the faith to love today.

For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. ⁸ So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.                    1 Thessalonians 4:7-8

Never forget the place of obedience.  Living in the passion and plans of God requires faith that obeys God.  Living in lust will mean living in the dust, the Holy Spirit, whom God has given us.  The Holy Spirit begins His work in us before He completes His work through us.  Look for the power of God in your life if you want to see the presence of God in your world.  It all begins with faith that obeys.
