The Kitchen Table Devotional

Galatians 5 Day 2

6 Even so Abraham BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. 7 Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.

Galatians 3:6-7

The sons of Abraham are sons of blessing, and the sons of blessing live from faith in the word and works of God rather than in the words and works of the flesh.  I’ve read that wisdom lies not in what we know but rather in what we learn.  And I’ve also read that the biggest problem for man is not to learn, but to unlearn.  Regardless, start by believing God’s promises one promise at a time, one day at a time.  You’ll be glad you did!

The Kitchen Table Devotional

Galatians 3 Day 1

You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Galatians 3:1-3

Nobody likes playing the fool; there’s no upside to being the fool foolishly.   There’s no way to satisfy the appetite of foolishness.  Only Jesus and His forgiveness can save us from the cancer of foolishness that eats away at us through regret, remorse, and resentment.  Why trade away the presence and pleasure of the Holy Spirit for someone who once played the fool.  Freedom is found in the work of faith, not the work of the flesh.
