The Kitchen Table Devotional
David Day 52
Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand. 51 Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.
1 Samuel 17:50-51
Once you slay your enemy, all sorts of opportunities come into your sight. David took Goliath’s own sword and chopped off the giant’s head. Make sure your enemy is truly defeated and dead. A wounded enemy can still think and talk. But when the head is off, the army flees. Some of us never take the head off of our enemy and we continue to struggle with temptations and terrorism. Let God have the complete victory in your life. Do not be afraid of the battle and ending it.
