See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that there is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt my life to take it.
1 Samuel 24:11
There are some things in life that we don’t see, but they are there, and they are big. Saul could know and see that David did no wrong and had no wrong in his heart. When people know that about you, that’s a big deal. Secondly, David didn’t let Sual live in his head. David didn’t let Saul determine who he was going to be, what he was going to do, and how he was going to live. You can’t see those kinds of things, but you can know them, and it is a wonderful thing. David had accepted God’s word, God’s way, and God’s will for his life, and just that trumped anything King Saul could do. It’s a good thing to live free.
