Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man.

1 Samuel 10:6

Read 1 Samuel 10

People who can’t receive the word of God can’t live in the life of God.  This is the life of Saul. Saul can’t believe or receive God’s word for his life.  God provides for Saul prospers Saul, and places Saul in a place to succeed, but Saul continues to be one of those guys that hides in the baggage.  Even though the Spirit of God comes on Saul mightily, changing him into another man, Saul can’t cooperate with the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit can transform who we are and how we think, but we must be willing to surrender to His perfect will.  God has great things in mind for us.  Do we have a mind that can handle those great things?  Be willing to let God change the way you think.

David Day 3

Now the donkeys of Kish, Saul’s father, were lost. So, Kish said to his son Saul, “Take now with you one of the servants, and arise, go search for the donkeys.”

1 Samuel 9:3

Don’t take your beginning for granted.  Saul’s story begins with what was lost, and David’s starts with what was won.  Saul stood head and shoulders above the other me, David, not so much.  Saul’s story begins with what he can’t do, while David’s story starts with what he did do.  Life begins with us and what we each think we can and can’t do.  Nothing is said about Saul’s relationship with God, but David is the man with a heart after God.  How we begin greatly impacts how we end.  Something we start with that seems so insignificant, spending time with God, has a great impact on how we live for God.  Saul lost his donkeys but David won his battles with the lion and the bear because his insignificant time with God showed up in those very significant times.

Galatians 6 Day 3

The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:6-8

God has placed in our hands the opportunity to have a good life.  God has given us His word and what we do with His word determines what we have in this life.  From the Spirit we will reap eternal life.  And don’t be greedy or paranoid, thinking that there’s not enough.  An eternal life is more than you and I can imagine.  Let your gratefulness and generosity open the door to greatness.
