Mark Day 12
And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.
Mark 4:30-32
We grow in our faith as our faith grows in us. Jesus said that first there is a leaf and then an ear and then a full ear. Jesus rebuked the storm the disciples feared would take them down and then He asked them why they were afraid. We think we can just have faith, but faith is something we grow in. If we’re going to see fruit, we must first see a plant. If we’re going to rebuke the storm, we’re must learn to trust God in the calm. Faith grows as we feed it with God’s word. God’s word is true, and God is faithful to His word but our hearts are unstable until we learn to truly trust in God’s word. It’s hard to trust God in the storm if we won’t trust Him in the sun. Jesus said that this smallest seed faith will grow to be the largest plant in the garden. That means we will live and breathe in His authority over every other power and authority that exists as we grow up in Him. Feed your faith. It’s hard to believe for a meal when we can’t believe for a morsel. Faith has to grow, and we grow in that faith like the disciples who spent time with Jesus with each other. Get in a place and with people who are going to help you grow in your faith. It’s the Jesus way.
