The Kitchen Table  Philippians Day 1

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.                                                     Phil 1:3-5

Thanksgiving is the key to successful and satisfying relationships.  Without thanksgiving there won’t be the motivation to keep that relationship going and growing.  Thanksgiving motivates any and every good action.   Maybe one of the most important things we can say to the ones we love is “I thank my God for you.”  With love and thanksgiving Paul writes this letter to the church in Philippi.  He’s so thankful for them and what God has done in and through their lives.  Thanksgiving does that; it creates appreciation and value for those in our lives.  Thanksgiving generates thoughts about the persons we value.  Thanksgiving for what God has done in us, through us, and around us motivates prayer from us.  Thanksgiving for what God is going to do in, through, and around us motivates us to prayer also.  With thanksgiving we grab hold of the victories of Calvary for ourselves and others.  It’s with thanksgiving we latch onto the words and promises of God.  Where we are thankful we will be mindful and helpful in this life.  Part of being a follower of Jesus is about being thankful for His great love and grace for us and those around us.  Don’t step outside without thankfulness today, it will determine everything else along your way.
