“The Resurrection”
Day 5
God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it Acts 2:24
Death had a grip on us, and the resurrection broke those fingers. Death can and will visit us before we die. If we let it, it will trap us in its tomb of death. In fact, before we were born-again (saved), we were already dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). We were trapped by death because of sin. The Bible says that the wages (consequences) of sin is death (Rom 6:23). Jesus could not be held in death’s grip because Jesus did not earn the wages of sin by living in sin. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we too can live free from death’s grip now and then. Because He lives, we can live. Jesus said that He came that we might have life and have it abundantly (Jn 10:10). The resurrection power of God’s love is here, all we have to do is receive it into our lives and release it from our lives and live!
