Kitchen Table Devotions

Matthew 18

Day 29

But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’

Matthew 18:28

Unreceived forgiveness is unrelenting in its pursuit of justice.  Misery loves company.  Iniquity and transgressions irritate the heart.  There is no rest for the unforgiven soul.  All this and his master had forgiven him.  Jesus has paid the price of our iniquities and indiscretions. We could not do anything about our debt, but He did everything.  Receive and release His gift because unforgiveness breeds hate, harm, and hopelessness.  Doomed and driven by guilt we look for someone else to share our pain.  Don’t let unforgiveness live in the house when forgiveness is free for the heart.
