THE CONFRONTATION OF LOVE

So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.

Many people know the darkness of their hearts when they come to Jesus. This is why they cry out to Him in the first place. Many others, however, have no idea just how much sin is hiding in their hearts until after they give their lives to Jesus, for it is then when He begins confronting areas of our lives that will rob us of reward on Judgment Day. This morning I’m made aware, once again, that love lives in the truth.  We cannot walk in love and not operate in truth.  Being nice doesn’t cut it but being harsh isn’t the answer either.  Love lives in the truth even though we often mistake love as a lie.  Love confronts everything that is not loving and it does so in love, for love and out of love.  That sounds strange, doesn’t it?  Love is the attitude and action of another or toward another.  That’s why we can’t know love all by ourselves.  It all starts with Jesus coming to us in love and confront us with love so that we don’t miss out on His love.  We can’t afford to be afraid of love or we will miss out on life.  But, we cannot embrace love if our arms are full of lies.  Let God’s love deal with any and every lie in our arms so that we can embrace love in life and for life.
