Victorious Living Day 15
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:46-49
Dig deep! The secret to a successful Christian life is to dig deep and let God’s values and vision form the very essence of our life and being. Without a firm foundation, we stand frail in this world because there are storms and struggles along the way, but we have this promise that we will stand the storm. The secret to this day lies in listening to and living with God. The interesting thing about this story is that it’s the rising influence of something on the ground, not the immediate impact of some storm from the air, that takes the shaky life apart. The secret to standing the storm is to be standing on the Scriptures, what God has told us about living this life. And here’s the promise, you will make it through standing. God’s word is sure and true! Trust Him!
