My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous
1 John 2:1
We have a friend, a true friend, in Jesus who loves us and defends us. He is our Lover and Lawyer. But He is even more than that to us. He went to the cross for us and He paid the price for our sin so that we could live forgiven and free. There is no freedom without forgiveness. He actually paid that price for the whole world but only those who believe and receive it have got it. Now the blood of Jesus covers us. Jesus continually reminds the Father that He bled for us. His blood marks us and makes us His. When we fail and fall, the blood of Jesus still speaks. His love wins. His blood doesn’t fade or disappear. Grab hold of this truth. It will serve us for the rest of our lives. Those who believe, belong to Him. Now fall in love with the One who loves you. Keep proclaiming the power of the blood by continuing to thank God for His forgiveness.
