Advent 2020 Day 5
God said, “No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him Genesis 17:19
There would come a child of covenant from Sarah. This would be a work of God, no questions asked. From Sarah would come nations, kings, and people but first from Sarah would come a child of covenant. A child of covenant would come, and that covenant would be an everlasting covenant based on God’s word and not mans work. God does not need our hands but our heart. Abraham circumcised his whole house. All a picture of what is to come to those who believe. This life is about believing in God’s word, not our work.
