The Game of Life Day 1
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
Before you go to far today, or any day, remember that this life is lived by values. We live according to what we value or who values us. Jesus says, “You are of more value…”
On one day, thousands were gathering around Jesus. He was important, popular and of great value. Jesus takes the moment of excitement and hysteria to talk to the disciples about the Pharisees. It was an important moment; we all value being valued, and the Pharisees loved this sort of attention. Jesus tells the disciples that life is lived from what we value. Do not be deceived, what we all value will become transparent. The values of our hearts will be disclosed, unveiled. Here is what we need to understand: God values us. He values every one of us.
The secret to living a successful life is to live with successful values. We all have a choice. The disciples could have embraced the values of the religious leaders. The life you and I are living right now is the one we have chosen because of what we value in this life. But it is not just what we value but who values us. In fact, what we value is probably determined by who we think values us. Do not be fooled, the day is coming when the real values of the heart will be revealed. God comes right out and says, “I value you!” If we believe that He values us we can start valuing what is valuable in and to life
