The Game of Life     Day 2

For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Luke 12:2-3

Our values shape our vision.  We cannot help it, they just do and why would they not they shape our vision, we value them.  But here is what this means.  Whatever we think in private and whatever we say in darkness will be revealed in the daylight.  What we value shapes our vision and our vision shapes our vocation.  We will live the values that shape our vision for life and in life.  We may think that we can fool the masses, but we cannot, it all shows up in why we live and how we live.

People will tell me that they have a kid or spouse who is always in trouble or always makes trouble for them but that he or she is basically a good person.  Can that be?  Can we be basically good if we value what is basically bad?  People treat others badly because the values that shape their vision are selfish, sinful, and sorry.

“Nothing is covered that will not be revealed.”  That is okay.  Discover and develop the values that create a great vision for life and there will not be the fear of anyone finding out.  What we value determines our vision, vocation, and verification in life.  This might be one of the most important lessons we learn in life.  Let me give you a pointer.  Start by valuing the One who values you.  His name is Jesus and with Him you will never have to be afraid.
