The Game of Life Day 9
“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:43-45
Vision for many people is about following someone else and living by someone else’s values. Vision for the believer is about following Jesus and choosing to live in His values for themselves. The Bible says that God has plans for us. (Jer 29:11; Eph 1:5) And when the Bible talks about “hope”, it’s talking about having plans, having a vision. In fact, love creates hope that inspires faith. A believer has hope and a vision, not only for their own life but for the lives around them and the lives that will follow them. To live without a vision for life is to live selfishly.
There are good trees and bad trees, and we won’t find good fruit on bad trees. To eat bad fruit is to believe a bad lie and to live with bad vision. We eat bad fruit and participate in destructive things because we do not have a vision or hope for anything better. Start eating good fruit and you will get a vision for what is good. The Bible says that those who live on God’s word (a good word) will be able to see the difference between what is good and what is bad. Jesus said that a good person lives from a good heart. What is in the heart? In our heart is where we find what we value and what we value is what we talk about and live for in tis life.
