The Kitchen Table Devotions
“The Prodigal”
Day 15
And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. Luke 15:16
Disbelief and disobedience can take us into the deepest darkness. Sin robs us of the knowledge and hope of love. The selfishness of sin leaves us stranded in a foreign land. Longing to be fed by what the pigs ate gives us a picture of where disbelief and disobedience take us. Losing the hope of love, we’re left with the hope of losers. Sin eventually loses the ability to satisfy. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death, but that death of sin is seldom swift, taking everything it can from us until we’re just a shell of ourselves. But remember this, the enemy’s worse fear is faith in God’s never, ever, ending love It’s when we find ourselves feeling unloved that we know we’re in an unfamiliar land. Don’t let this lie go any further. God always loves you!
