“The Prodigal”
Day 22
I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants. Luke 15:18-19
We never find relief by feeling good about feeling bad, yet we try to do that all the time. The young man got up and decided to go to his good father and then admit he did bad, felt bad, and deserved bad. That’s a recipe for failure. Our Father loves us, values us, and had plans to prosper us but we must be willing to give up on feeling good about feeling bad. The Bible says, “For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death (2 Corinthians 7:10). Don’t head to the Father believing you’re unworthy to be called a son. God never felt that way about you or me.
