The Kitchen Table            Philippians Day 16

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world Philippians 2:14-15

The secret to a satisfied life is a grateful life.  Even a life with a higher purpose but lower pain becomes poison.  A grumbling and disputing attitude handicaps rather than helps the person who lives with the lower simmering pain for discontent.  The end is no better than the beginning when criticism and complaining simmer under the skin.  The best way to a satisfying life is to hold to the words of life, looking for the Giver of life.  The one who holds to the words of life from the Giver of life can smile even in sacrifice.  God’s words form his perspective and passion along the path, not man’s pain and pessimism.
