The Game of Life Day 5
And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Luke 12:29-31
Value is not something we find in with our skin but with our spirit. Jesus said, “one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” Values are what we treasure on the inside. It is a spiritual thing.
Jesus told the story of the rich fool who valued his valuables more than the One who valued him. He died in his sleep without those valuables. Jesus goes on to say, “don’t be anxious (troubled about our treasures) about your life…” and then He reminds us how God feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies. These things come and go without our awareness. But Jesus challenges us with the thought that if God cares for things that are here today and gone tomorrow, then how much more must He value us.
The secret to a successful life in found in “who” we value, not “what” we value. It is a relationship; that leads to riches in Jesus. Anger and angst thrive in shallow values. Learn this lesson because if we do not value the valuable, the invaluable will devalue us.
